Liberal group Indivisible is urging Democrats to push to include the Arizona Abortion Access Act on Arizona's 2024 ballot, just days after Ohio voted down a ballot measure that would make it harder to amend the state constitution ahead of an abortion rights amendment that will be on the ballot in November.
The memo explained that new polling shows the state has a streak for abortion rights that"crosses party lines" to energize the Democratic base, boosting Democratic candidates across the board while"muddying the waters" for Republican voters. Overall, 58% of Arizona voters"think the Supreme Court was wrong to overturn Roe v. Wade," the memo added.
