Madlala, who is the seventh witness called by the state, took the stand again at the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria on Tuesday, facing rigorous questioning from defense lawyers.
Upon his return to the Khumalo house, he discovered Meyiwa with a gunshot wound to his upper body, and no ambulance had been called by that point. Madlala, for his part, disputed this allegation, asserting that their actions demonstrated their intention to save Meyiwa's life. He noted that they had quickly placed Meyiwa into his BMW X6 with the intention of rushing him to a nearby hospital.
