Cape Town Law Enforcement Advancement Plan officer, Zanikhaya Kwinana, was killed in a drive-by shooting in Nyanga on Friday.The car he was travelling in came under attack on Friday.
The motive for the shooting is unknown and the investigation is still ongoing, but Western Cape police could not rule out the possibility that the shooting was related to the stayaway. Pojie added that the possibility that the attack was related to the ongoing taxi strike could not be ruled out. "However the motive forms part of an ongoing investigation. The officers were part of members performing crime prevention patrols to quell taxi-related incidents that have unfolded in the province," he added.Officer Zanikhaya Kwinana, who was on duty at the time of the incident, was attached to the Gugulethu unit.
