Police and law enforcement officials across Washington, D.C., are preparing for former President Donald Trump's high-profile court appearance on Thursday.

Trump is scheduled to arrive in the nation's capital for an initial court hearing, which is scheduled for 4 p.m. He will appear before U.S. Magistrate Judge Moxila Upadhyaya at the E. Barrett Prettyman Courthouse after he was indicted in special counsel Jack Smith's investigation into Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election and the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.The U.S.
