The Liberal senator launches legal action in the WA Supreme Court against Brittany Higgins, alleging two social media posts defamed her.

WA senator Linda Reynolds is suing former Canberra political staffer Brittany Higgins over two social media posts.The WA senator says Ms Higgins' response was "wholly unsatisfactory"In a writ filed in the WA Supreme Court, Ms Reynolds alleges Ms Higgins defamed her in two separate posts, one on Instagram and one on Twitter.

Ms Higgins previously worked in Ms Reynolds' ministerial office when she alleged she was raped by her colleague Bruce Lehrmann. Ms Reynolds first threatened legal action in July, alleging she had been the "target of unwarranted criticism and abuse" since Ms Higgins first made her rape allegations public.
