A 26-year-old was left in a critical condition following the incident

Two men have been charged with attempted murder in Paisley after a man was left fighting for his life in hospital.

The 26-year-old was taken to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital following the alleged incident in the Renfrewshire town's Maxwellton Street at around 5.30pm on Sunday, July 23. Police have now confirmed that two men, aged 24 and 25, have been charged in connection with an attempted murder.Multiple vehicles and an ambulance were spotted at the scene of the incident, and a large cordon was also put in place near neighbouring shops on Sunday.Detective Inspector Nicola Wake said: “We would like to thank the public for their assistance with our enquiries, following our earlier appeal.

“Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and I'd encourage anyone with information who hasn't already spoken to police to get in touch by calling 101, quoting incident 2647 of Sunday, 23 July, 2023.”
