Two of Australia’s richest women will face off in court in Perth on Monday to settle their differences in a decade-long and bitter battle over billions of dollars of iron ore riches.

The companies of Gina Rinehart and Angela Bennett will square off in a civil trial in Western Australia’s Supreme Court which is set to run for at least four months.

The dispute centres around a deal made between their fathers – Lang Hancock and Peter Wright – in the 1980s. Ms Rinehart’s two eldest children are also fighting for a multi-billion dollar stake in the lucrative Hope Downs mine.
