Approximately one year ago, at 9:22 a.m. on a hot Sunday, I impulsively decided to go see the Philip Johnson church and Cunningham Architects chapel that is the Cathedral of Hope. Dressed in jeans and a T-shirt, hair slicked back into a ponytail and Crocs flopping, off I went. I admit that religion was not the driving force at that time — just curiosity about the buildings.
