A young woman who spat on a detective's face has walked away from court without punishment.
Hayley Macklin, of Clydebank's Dalmuir Court, pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner on Bank Street, Alexandria, on September 4 last year, where she shouted and swore at two police detectives in the execution of their duty.The 21-year-old appeared in the dock again at Dumbarton Sheriff Court this week after her case was deferred in March this year as an opportunity for her to be of good behaviour.
Defence solicitor Lauren Kerr said:"The matter was continued for Miss Macklin to be of good behaviour and I understand that she has been. She continues to have her own tenancy and is about to start employment in Arrochar." At the hearing on July 18, Sheriff Maxwell Hendry said:"You have done what was required of you and there are no further offences. The offence you committed back in September of last year was an unpleasant one to put it mildly but I am going to view it as a one-off.The sheriff admonished Macklin.
