The Office of the Ombudsman has dismissed the charges against four members of the Quezon City police accused of killing four individuals in a drug operation during the Duterte administration.

According to a "24 Oras" report by Cedric Castillo, the case filed by Efren Morillo was junked in a June 5, 2023 decision for lack of probable cause. The Ombudsman said the policemen only performed their duty in a legitimate anti-drug operation.

Morillo, who was shot in the chest, survived after he played dead and then escaped until he reached the highway. "Kung talagang sinasabi nilang subject, eh di illegal na from the very beginning kasi wala naman silang warrant of arrest," lawyer Joel Butuyan of CenterLaw said.
