No physical evidence tied Buehner to the crime. Instead, police and prosecutors at both the original trial and the new trial that began last week relied upon testimony of three people to convict the Cleveland man.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A Cleveland man who spent two decades in prison for a murder that he long denied committing was acquitted by a jury Wednesday after the case went to a second trial.

Michael Buehner, 46, hugged his attorneys Russell Randazzo and Roger Synenberg as Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge William Vodrey read the verdict in court Wednesday. Members of his family who attended the trial burst into applause and sobbed tears of joy.
