A man charged with the murder of his wife in Cork last weekend has been remanded in custody while the court awaits DPP directions.

41-year-old Indian native Regin Parithapara Rajan appeared in court for the second time this morning via videolink.

He stands charged of murdering 38-year-old Deepa Dinamani at their home in in Cardinal Court, Wilton last Friday 14th July.Ms Dinamani was a chartered accountant who was working as a senior manager in fund services at a company based in the Airport Business Park in Cork. The mother of a five-year-old son was from Kerala in south-west India and had been living in Cork for just three months.

Today Mr Rajan, who appeared by video link from Cork Prison, was further remanded in custody until July 31st for DPP directions.
