Former eThekwini mayor Zandile Gumede returns to court for fraud and corruption trial.

The fraud and corruption trial of former eThekwini mayor Zandile Gumede and 21 others resumes today. eNCA's Dasen Thathiah is closely monitoring this trial.She and her 21 co-accused face over 2,000 charges.

The state accuses them of rigging Durban Solid Waste contracts, valued at over 3-hundred million rand.Gumede's lawyer is arguing proper procedures were not followed leading to the investigation of the tender.
