IPOH: An ustaz was slapped with two charges at the Sessions Court here for insulting the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

Ab Malik Hussain, 62, from Kota Baru, Kelantan, pleaded not guilty to both charges under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act before Judge Azizah Ahmad here on Tuesday .

The offence is punishable under Section 233 of the same act, where those found guilty could be fined up to RM50,000 or jailed up to one year or both. Deputy Public Prosecutor Saiful Akmal Mod Said recommended bail to be set at RM10,000 for each charge.
