Since we are not advised of the “illegal” nature of the actions by many whom Paxton has befriended over the years, we have to read between the lines. The “sham” apparently is that Paxton wanted to testify during the investigation and was not allowed to.
Like many of you, I watched fireworks on TV accompanied by patriotic music. A reminder of what a great experiment American democracy has been and how blessed we are to be a part of it.
