Please make the Futures Game nine innings again. And maybe put it on a streaming platform people actually get, writes keithlaw. But how about the action on the field? Pitching dominated.

Jul. 9, 2023I’m just a boy, standing in front of the Commissioner’s Office, asking them to please make the Futures Game nine innings again. And maybe put it on a streaming platform people actually get.

Anyway, for a game where the hitting prospects were far more famous and highly rated than the pitching prospects, this year’s Futures Game was actually much more of a showcase for pitchers. A big part of this is just that pitching right now is so good, with so much velocity and so much pitch design out there, that when you take starter prospects and let them air it out for an inning so they pick up 2 mph or so, they’re going to give even the best hitting prospects fits.
