JOHOR BARU: An unemployed man has claimed trial at the Sessions Court here to two charges of making offensive communications against Johor's Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar and the Johor royal family two years ago.

Reymi Abdul Rahim, 43, pleaded not guilty when the charges were read in front of judge VM Mabel Sheela.

According to the charges, the posts were read by a complainant at an office in Kota Southkey, Johor Baru at about 12pm on Oct 8, 2021. The case was prosecuted by Deputy Public Prosecutor S Thiviya, while the accused was represented by lawyers Jihad Syahida Nadia Zakaria and Nurhazneena Zureen Mohamad Hanafiah.
