Kate Middleton's mum and sister, Carole and Pippa, are also big tennis fans but were denied seats in the Centre Court Royal Box due to an unfortunate blunder

As Wimbledon gets underway this week, plenty of famous faces - some royal - will be seen in the crowd as the world's best tennis players go head to head.

According to Hello!, the pair arrived too late for the match-up, and All England Club's strict rules mean that latecomers are banned from entering the box.

The duchess revealed the cringeworthy story in a 2017 BBC documentary called Our Wimbledon, presented by sports host Sue Barker.
