The High Court has declared Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi's decision to terminate the ZEP irrational, invalid, and unconstitutional.

It means that no ZEP holder can be deported. The matter was brought forward by the Helen Suzman Foundation and Consortium for Refugees and Migrants in South Africa. The foundation's Nicole Fritz says this does not affect the extension which has been moved to December.
