The Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, has reacted to the murder of a butcher, Usman Buda, over alleged blasphemy in Sokoto State.
In a statement issued on Monday by MURIC Sokoto branch Chairman, Muhammad Mansur Aliyu Esq, the group said “Islam abhors jungle justice because it will lead to the taking of innocent lives and destruction of the properties of innocent persons.” While urging Muslims to stop jungle justice and allow the law take its course whenever issues of such nature arise, MURIC added that it condemned the murder of Usman Buda in the strongest term.
