In what alternate universe could State Sen. Angela Paxton believe it is ethically correct to not recuse herself when her husband goes on trial in the Texas Senate? I would have thought she would have quickly made it apparent she intended to do so when her husband was impeached. If she does not do so, then the Senate should insist on it. Maybe her ethical compass is pointed in the same direction as her husband’s.

It was especially gratifying to see that Jerry McCoy was able to witness recognition of his childhood home, especially in his current struggle with cancer. My prayers go out to him.The power was out at my house for the third time last week. “Real” summer hasn’t even started. The deadly winter storm was two years ago.

It appears that it has finally become apparent that the trigger bill eliminating all abortions needed some help. While HB 3058 doesn’t provide the more broad-reaching exceptions included in HB 2215, it’s definitely a step in the right direction. Kudos to all who were involved in getting this passed! Hopefully more commonsense exceptions will be forthcoming in the next legislative session!
