Chief Justice Raymond Zondo has called for the establishment of a permanent commission to investigate state capture.

Zondo has lamented Parliament’s lack of implementation of the recommendations of the State Capture report.

Justice Zondo says the establishment of a permanent State Capture Commission would help in holding public figures accountable. State Capture saw the infiltration of strategic positions for the gain of the Gupta family and the hollowing out of state resources. Zondo has raised concern over the lack of measures by Parliament to prevent another State Capture in the country. Zondo says the lack of implementation is alarming.
