A man has been charged with a number of offences including human trafficking and controlling prostitution.
The 59-year-old was arrested by detectives from the PSNI's Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking unit on Wednesday and has since been charged. Read more: Two women arrested over Co Down stabbing incident A spokesperson for the PSNI said: "Specialist detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Unit arrested a 59-year-old man in Newtownards yesterday, Wednesday 14th June.
