Actor Johnny Depp was praised by the Make-A-Film Foundation Wednesday after the actor made a $200,000 contribution to the organization.A rep for the organization told TMZ that the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star is “one of the most generous people we’ve ever worked with.”“Mr. Depp’s generosity is overwhelming and we are honored to be among these amazing organizations that he supports,” said Tetiaroa Society’s Executive Director Frank Murphy.
Joe Seidenberg, the executive director of Red Feather, also praised Depp, saying that the actor’s donation will “help to address housing disparities for Native Americans.” Much of the money will go toward production costs for films in the roughly $25,000 to $35,000 and documentaries that run between $3,000 and $5,000.The “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” star also is expected to give money to The Painted Turtle, Red Feather, Tetiaroa Society and the Amazonia Fund Alliance.Both Depp and Heard have slowly returned to the spotlight after their courtroom showdown.
