Brett Andrew Button, 58, fronted court with his wife and mother on Tuesday as he was granted bail by the judge, who said it was 'clear he suffers along with the rest of the community'.

The driver behind the wheel of the deadly bus crash in the New South Wales Hunter region has been given strict bail in court, as a judge recognised his"suffering" too.

Picture: NCA NewsWire / David Swift "It does appear on the fact sheet before the court to be a strong case in relation to the charges of driving dangerously, occasioning death," she said."And it is clear to this court that he suffers … and the court acknowledges the suffering... of the community, their families and friends who have lost loved ones."Mr Button's lawyer told reporters on Tuesday his client was doing"quite well" given the circumstances surrounding the tragic crash.
