A man who allegedly threatened to shoot someone in downtown Victoria was arrested Friday in a police takedown caught on video.

Victoria police say the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team arrested the man after the weapons call, which happened just before 12:30 p.m. in the 1100-block of Pandora Avenue.

In a news release Monday, VicPD says patrol officers, as well as strike force and GVERT, responded to the scene. They say the man fled the scene of the incident in a vehicle, but officers later located him near the intersection of Tyee Road and Wilson Street, where he was arrested.Sign up for the CHEK Now daily email newsletter to get breaking news and the day's top stories sent to your email.Video footage sent to CHEK News shows officers pulling the man out of a white vehicle before arresting him and putting him in a police cruiser.
