Former UCP health minister Tyler Shandro is asking Alberta\u0027s legal regulator to throw out a series of professional complaints against him.

“This is in fact a proceeding brought for a collateral or improper purposes,” he told the tribunal.

Law society lawyers say Shandro breached professional standards when he confronted a doctor critical of UCP policy outside the physician’s home, contacted two doctors who criticized him at an announcement, and emailed a member of the public who messaged his wife’s company. Shandro rejected this characterization. He said that while he was upset by what he saw as a coordinated harassment campaign against himself and his wife Andrea Shandro, he conducted himself appropriately. He claimed in all four interactions he respectfully engaged with constituents and stakeholders and acted to protect his loved ones.
