Re “Threats after football loss lead to an arrest” :
Good. Law enforcement has caught the terrorist responsible for threatening the lives of literally everyone at Laguna Hills High School. I teach there; the faculty and kids didn’t deserve this completely unwarranted attack on their sense of well-being. What should have been pure joy to have won a state championship was turned to a nightmare by one deranged individual. The coach and numerous players received very personal threats to their lives.
As a practicing dentist, I have always wondered why I can practice in California as I have a California dental license, but if I moved to Mississippi, all of a sudden, I no longer have the technical know-how to handle a drill or a scaler. We have trouble finding hygienists and dental assistants. I have not joined the California Dental Association for years because of its stance regarding licensing by credential.
President Biden has never hesitated to bend the Constitution as far as he can in order to get what he wants, even ignoring equality among the people in America. The college loan relief bill is just one example. It would mean that payment of the loan for a few thousand would fall on the backs of millions. Favoring transgenders over many other minority groups is another example of inequality, as is the favoring of illegal migrants over the citizens of our country.
However, I respectfully disagree that Alexandra’s Law will have a significant effect on the drug trade. Drug use is a moral issue, and users who seek drugs ultimately have to own the responsibility and accountability for their actions. Instilling an educated moral “gyroscope” in children is a role, a sacred duty, that parents, schools, churches and mentors must fill. “Say no to drugs” is still valid. Saying “no” to ingesting pills not prescribed by a licensed physician would be one stabilizer.
