Once court begins, you forget everything else. I just focus on what I’m doing. Occasionally, I might see my emails and answer them but mostly, I’m just focusing on the case.my job and my personal life is when cases overrun. A particularly hard point was when my father died in the middle of a trial. You can’t just say I’m going home because I’m sad. You have to carry on. I remember I had to cross-examine the main witness in the case. It was one of the best cross-examinations I have ever done.

I also always make sure that I have my nails done. These small luxuries make my life that bit easier. My nails make me feel the part, which I know sounds a bit
