Late Soccer Legend Senzo Meyiwa Murder Trial Postponed - South African News Briefs - June 13, 2023 allafrica: SouthAfrica

Deputy Judge President Aubrey Ledwaba announced that Presiding Judge Tshifiwa Maumela is ill and the trial may be postponed, reports SABC News. State witness Zandile Khumalo was expected to testify during this time but will now have to wait. State Advocate George Baloyi explained that the health of Judge Maumela is the reason for the possible delay. If a different judge presides over the trial, all witnesses who have already given evidence may need to be recalled to clarify any unclear issues.

The incident occurred on Sunday night, and City Power, the utility company, believes that overloading caused the fire. The pumping of water has also been affected as a result. Joburg Water will provide guidance to residents regarding the situation. A contractor is set to begin with repairs, although the duration of the repairs remains uncertain. City Power has assured residents that they will receive updates throughout the process.
