The Duke of Sussex has touched down in London ahead of his cross examination on the witness stand, a position no royal has been in since 1890.

His visit comes about one month after a similarly quick trip to London to appear at the coronation of King Charles III.

Harry's testimony on Tuesday will be the first of five pending legal cases in his high profile battle with the British tabloids. The last time a royal appeared in court for cross examination was over a century ago, when King Edward VII testified as a witness in part of a divorce case in 1870.It is likely Harry may take the opportunity to further criticise the royal family while taking the witness stand for not allowing him to speak out about the phone hacking.

Harry also confirmed a long-held theory that members of the royal family intentionally avoid legal proceedings at all costs.
