“The harassment consisted of being yelled at in front of other employees and ridiculed on a daily basis, insulted and ignored on a daily basis and treated with anger and disdain,” states the lawsuit, filed May 24 in state Superior Court in Bergen County. The lawsuit says Comet was stripped of her job title several times, was given minimal guidance by Simons, and that she complained to human resources to no avail.
“Plaintiff would find out about program information in the department through Facebook posts posted by the workers of color in conjunction with ,” including a time when camp was canceled, the suit alleges. The lawsuit says she was wrongfully terminated on March 11, 2022 in a letter signed by a city manager, who resigned two days later.
