Irrespective of the rights or wrongs with the sentence - she should resign and try to rebuild. She clearly has no integrity or sense of moral responsibility by keeping her MP role for the money. It’s just plain wrong.

I suspect the complaints are politically motivated. A sentence of 12+ months would force her to stand down. If she only had the decency to do so voluntarily she might have got away with three months.

If it’s not in line with similar cases with less well known people, it should be. If it’s about the same, it shouldn’t be increased simply because she’s an MP.

If the AG does refer it as she is appealing the conviction you will have the rare situation of both prosecution and the defence appealing in the same case. I am not sure this has happened before.
