RafaelAnchia Why are you retweeting this? You already know there's a provision to handle this currently in place.

WTF! God put realDonaldTrump in office, just ask PressSec. So, who gives a hoot over what some Catholics at some silly church have to say?

Watch out for Father Roy. You have no idea of the history behind this chapel.

MOVE THE CHURCH! SIMPLE!

Too bad they can't take their votes back!! ThoughtsAndPrayers

This has been here for years. savelaLomitaChurch

Now would be a good time for the Pope to visit Texas!!

So which funding is used for this legal battle?

That would make it built in Mexico and not American land.

Since when do you care about Catholics?

Elections have consequences...adios...

Saw this story on TheLastWord last night & I haven't stopped thinking about it. Everyone should be sharing this! Thank you Lawrence & CalNBC for sharing this with us. NoWall LaLomita

The trump administration has ZERO respect for history because they don’t know history

If your a real Christian you will step up to the pate and make this land grab a central point. Here is your chance Christians. Ready set go!

Many more legal challenges to come if the wall comes

Tell them to put on MAGA hats and harass a native elder....trump will have them over for dinner.

Well then the United states government needs to notify the Mexican government that non Mexican citizens are squatting on Mexican land & have taken or stolen property belonging by rights to the people of Mexico...

skeller85 So I guess ppl on the border don't think we need a wall? Who'd a thought it? According to Trump there's some kind of emergency down there.

But God is everywhere, right? 😂

Best fight yet

This is terrible

I read about this before. Apparently trump doesn’t care about Catholics as much as Evangelicals. He wouldn’t mow down a superchurch even for his wall.

Keep on, keeping on Father Roy!! cmgwood

Then move it.

Pathetic. And all for a wall that will never be built.

I sure will like to know were is the religious value crowd on this absolutely nothing wrong with destroying a church as long as Ronald McDonald twin brother gets his tiny little wall compared to the real threats to the Nation unbelievable.

If this was the house Trump eas born in he would defend it stringly. It is a historic building and should be protected as such. Shame on you realDonaldTrump.

Eminent Domain. The right of a government to take private property for a public purpose, usually with just compensation of the owner.

Texas historical landmark leave it be ... Don't mess with Texas!!!!

Only the Devil would claim & destroy one of God’s Church

Has a legitimate Environmental Protection agent been to this place. The riparian zone could be destroyed, along with lots of birds and native animals be impacted.

Keep hands off this church!!! Remember the Alamo!

This is wrong on so many levels

I honestly do not care what happens to the “historic” relics of the Catholic rape of the Southwest US. It can all rot. But we do not need a fucking wall on our border with our families and friends. Impeach and indict. NOW!

This is so disgusting!!! Trump has no shame AT ALL.

This is just the beginning... some folks have had their land for generations with no interest in selling. They do NOT want a wall. Trump is nothing but a land grabbing despot trying to justify his actions with scary and false rhetoric bought hook line and sinker by his base.

Brownsville Times Herald, 'CBP has represented in other informal conversations with community members that La Lomita will not be removed, and that there will be a gate in the border wall to allow access (to) the chapel'

Seizing American taxpayers' land w/eminent domain denying other American taxpayers paychecks making them work anyhow while denying yet other American taxpayers services already paid for all held hostage ransom for 'down payment' on wall 70% Americans don't want? Where are pesos?

Ok. Leave it there and put a point of entry next to it. I'm sure the Aggie wouldn't mind the extra traffic.

If it’s a Texas church how does it end up in Mexico?

Here they go Texans trump is taking your land and no talking

This is one time I don't believe in the separation of church and state.

I’m guessing God told him to go after this beautiful old community church. God doesn’t want immigrants from south of our border coming here.

There would be many, many, many more cases of eminent domain if this wall were ever to become a reality. It’s just not practical. Technology must step it up. Someone out there has a better answer than a wall or moat.

Hmmmmm you got what you Voted for Texas..... so now it matters... sheesh.

We should ask PressSec Sanders what God thinks about this

Just move church. The hell...

The Catholic Church should be focusing on the excommunication of abortionists within Her ranks.
