James Browne, a Minister for State at the Department of Justice, has rejected Leo Varadkar’s claim that there are not enough gardaí to deal with anti-immigration protests.
Varadkar suggested on Monday that the Garda did not have enough numbers to combat protesters who were seeking to target makeshift migrant camps in Dublin. Asked if he thought there were enough Gardaí on the streets of Dublin City to tackle this, the Taoiseach replied: “I don't.”
