Curry is one of five finalists up for the award, with the NBA giving a $100,000 donation to a social justice organization of the winner’s choosing.

Curry’s off-court work has been well known for several years, and that now includes being a part of President Joe Biden’s fitness and nutrition council along with his wife Ayesha. During the Warriors’ visit to the White House in January to celebrate their championship, Curry thanked Biden for bringing Brittney Griner home from her 10-month incarceration in Russia and engaged directly with the president on policy matters.

An avid golfer, Curry has also donated millions to help Howard University in Washington D.C. re-start its men’s and women’s golf programs and is a major funder of the Underrated Junior Golf circuit to help increase golf participation in diverse communities.
