Of the 66 social studies books approved by the Florida Department of Education, nearly 50 were forced to undergo edits to sections on racial justice in order to be allowed.

Educators who violate the law’s standards can face disciplinary action, including termination. Districts are also at risk of losing their funding if they do not comply.
