In his opening statement, David Sherborne, the barrister representing Harry and the other claimants, said the duke was subjected to the most obtrusive methods to gain information about his personal life. MGN is also arguing that some of the claims being brought forward by the Duke of Sussex have come too late.

Last month lawyers representing the claimants said all their witnesses should be giving evidence in court.
