Mkhwebane says she’ll lodge a Judicial Service Commission complaint against the Constitutional Court over its 'undue' delay in ruling on her suspension challenge – while demanding it grants her unlimited state funding of her impeachment defence.

Suspended Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane says she’ll lodge a Judicial Service Commission complaint against the Constitutional Court over its"undue" delay in ruling on her suspension challenge – while demanding it grants her unlimited state funding of her impeachment defence.

"I need to emphasise that the said complaint will be pursued irrespective of whether the outcome is in my favour or against me. Either way the delay has caused untold and unnecessary human suffering," she stated in court papers, which she referred to in Parliament on Monday. While Mkhwebane has made a habit of laying JSC complaints against the judges who ruled against her, her latest threatened complaint marks the first time she’s gone after a court for a delay in the delivery of its judgment.Get 14 days free to read all our investigative and in-depth journalism.
