An ex-girlfriend of former heavyweight boxing champion Andy Ruiz Jr. was granted a temporary restraining order last month after she accused him of domestic violence, including rape.
He said he was a victim of assault during their relationship, including an incident in 2020 in which he claims the woman stabbed him in the back with a knife. The former couple’s relationship started in 2015 and lasted about eight years, according to court records. Ruiz said they dated through the end of 2022; the woman said the relationship ended earlier this year.
The woman claims Ruiz repeatedly raped her in recent months and threatened to stop giving her money for their children if she didn’t have sex with him. She claims Ruiz also was abusive toward their children and has threatened to take them to Las Vegas, where he works.
