He has no right or constitutional whatsoever to suspend the chief judge of the Supreme Court. In fact it is a breach of his oat of office of the president which he took while being sworn in as president in 2015. And is clearly an impeachable offence.

The short answer is yes. According to section 11 of the interpretation act, cap 123, vol 8, LFN, 2004, the president can suspend indefinitely but not remove without the senate.
