Law enforcement officials through the National Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure are on standby amid threats of a national shutdown by truck drivers tomorrow. The Strike is expected to disrupt major routes including the N3 between Johannesburg and Durban. The strike is set to be a protest against the employment of foreign nationals, among other issues. JOHANNESBURG - Truck drivers are threatening to shut down major highways around the country on Sunday.NATJOINTS -- which is made up of the police, defence force and State Security Agency -- is on standby.It's called on those taking part to do so peacefully.Police say they're well prepared to enforce law and order should truck drivers cause havoc as they plan to blockade major routes n Sunday morning as part of their strike.
