James Boone is charged with dangerous driving causing death

Courtroom Number 4 in the Corner Brook provincial court building. - Diane Crocker/SaltWire NetworkCORNER BROOK, N.L. — A lawyer from the Legal Aid office in St. John’s will be assigned as counsel for a Halfway Point man charged with dangerous driving causing death.

He’s also charged with flight from police, operating a vehicle while prohibited, failure to comply with a probation order, failure to comply with a release order and committing a common nuisance. Boone wasn’t represented by a lawyer when he appeared in provincial court in Corner Brook on Tuesday, April 25, and Judge Wayne Gorman gave him another day to find out what was happening with his Legal Aid application.

Gorman then asked staff at the centre to assist Boone in contacting Legal Aid and set the matter down until the afternoon.
