About 50 litres of a notorious date rape drug are now in the hands of investigators, following a joint operation by Canadian and American law enforcement.

The drug in question is a type of alcohol called 1,4 Butanediol, and has similar effects to GHB. Investigators note it can be used recreationally, under the street names ‘one comma four,’ ‘liquid fantasy,’ and ‘one four bee.’ On March 23, U.S. officials informed the RCMP about a shipment of the drug that was headed for locations in Ontario.

Investigators were then able to stop the shipment, seizing 50 litres of the drug and around $39,000 in Canadian cash. Mehdi Abbaspour-Mirzabak-Kandi, 49, of Toronto, has been charged with importing a Schedule VI substance.Ctrl+Enter
