Some Nigerian activists have planned to stage a peaceful protest to express their grievance over the murder of Onyeka Ibeh in Delta State. Ibeh was a phone dealer killed by a policeman for refusing to part with a bribe of N100. The youths will also use the protest to demand the prosecution of Ibeh’s killer. The protest is scheduled to kick off in front of Ogbeogonogo Market in Asaba, the state capital at 9 am on Thursday.

April 18, 2023Some Nigerian activists have planned to stage a peaceful protest to express their grievance over the murder of Onyeka Ibeh in Delta State.The youths will also use the protest to demand the prosecution of Ibeh’s killer.

According to a poster obtained by SaharaReporters on Tuesday, Thursday, April 20 has been set for another peaceful protest tagged 'Justice For Onyeka Ibeh Peaceful Protest/Press Rally'.SaharaReporters had reported that hundreds of youths in early April staged a peaceful protest following the killing of Ibeh in Asaba.The protesting youths demanded justice for the slain phone dealer and vowed to mobilise more youths for more protests until justice was served.

The command spokesman, Bright Edafe, in a statement issued, said the police commissioner on receipt of the sad news immediately ordered the arrest and detention of the errant police officer and directed his transfer to the State Criminal Investigation Department.
