The allegations were revealed in a May 2021 police interview view with Jim Torbett, which was played for the jury today

A former player with Celtic Boys Club claimed his manager asked him to wear the club’s shorts and then indecently assaulted him. The teenager told police that Jim Torbett, now aged 75, kissed him on the lips and put his hand down his shorts after he stayed overnight at Torbett’s fifth storey flat in Glasgow.

The claims were put by detectives to Torbett who denied those and other events ever happened or said he couldn’t remember. Detective Constable Diane Curran, who conducted the interview, asked Torbett if he sexually assaulted the boy just 100 yards away from his home after Torbett gave him a lift. Torbett was also asked if he had told the boy not to come back to training. Torbett replied: “I can’t remember anything about that.”
