International Bar Association has called for the urgent fixing of gender disparity in Nigeria’s legal profession.

The data for the “50:50 by 2030: A longitudinal study into gender disparity in law – Nigeria Results Report”, shows women make up 40 percent of all lawyers. However, law firms have the second lowest number of women in senior roles – 43 percent, behind the judiciary – 33 percent. The Senior Advocate promised NBA’s support for the IBA and LexisNexis Rule of Law Foundation “50:50 by 2030 Gender Project he called “innovative and unprecedented”.
