Cindy and Butch Moore address news media after an Anchorage courtroom hearing on Thursday, July 30, 2015, where Joshua Almeda admitted to killing his girlfriend, their daughter, Breanna Moore in 2014. The couple have been lobbying the state legislature to pass stronger anti-domestic violence laws.
and Early Development. The curriculum was finished and available for use in fall 2021, the Moores said. Then the Moores hit a bureaucratic obstacle. The husband-wife duo had sought to get a copyright release from the state to make minor revisions to the course materials. The Dunleavy administrationthe family in an April 5 letter that they could use the curriculum as long as it was not for profit, but they could not adapt or revise it.
“We want to make it generic for use in all 50 states, to any school district or school that wanted to utilize the education,” Butch Moore said. The Moore family was confused by the Dunleavy administration’s decision. They said they had worked for the past two months with the state education department and Deena Bishop, a former Anchorage superintendent and current special adviser to Dunleavy, to discuss adapting the Bree’s Law curriculum for use nationally.
I really would like to know how many people actually read the bill you're also willing to jump on the bandwagon against Dun lady and I don't. Think you really understand what's going on
DermotMCole Dunleavy again trying to legislate his beliefs regardless of the people he harms.
Most people won't read the article and understand what they want to do is change the curriculum so it can be used generically elsewhere. The program will still run in Alaska, monitored for efficacy. The Dunleavy Administration is doing the responsible thing.
Jesús Cristo GovDunleavy is one giant a$$🕳️
Nothing about Dunleavy and his administration convinces me they are qualified to do their jobs, have the best interest of other people in mind, and never should’ve been elected, especially not more than once!
Am I the only one who’s a little skeptical of the parents here? The article says the curriculum was coauthored by the state of Alaska. So why should the state release its claim? So the parents can take $950,000 from the federal government to make these “minor revisions”?
DermotMCole Why does anyone need a copyright release to share educational materials?
Why on earth would Dunleavy even care about doing this? The man needs to leave office & get out of everyone’s business although then he couldn’t make any extra $$. Go away!
BoogidFfskw2002 Disgusting.
There is nothing stopping GovDunleavy from approving this, according to this webpage from AlaskaDEED. akleg akgov
Women and girls are constant victims in Alaska, why on Earth would anyone stand in the way of education about partner violence? Disgusting as usual.
Changes could be made as long as it was for profit and not for change. GovDunleavy. What?
Sad we need to do something about domestic violence! Why not education at the dating level so women have choices!!!
catsfaith What?! 😳
40 million dollars over 5 years?
