The National Assembly has passed the bill and presented it to Mr Buhari for assent before it can become law.

to sign the bill seeking an end to the discrimination between Bachelor’s Degree and Higher National Diploma holders in the Nigerian civil service into law.

The bill also seeks to end the discrimination that stakeholders in the polytechnics have, which for long they sought an end to. Since 2006, the government has attempted to end the discrimination by pronouncing and constituting committees to look into the matter. He said the continuous discrimination against polytechnic graduates, whom he described as technologists, has set the country back in areas of technology-driven development.

A welcome idea and an appeal to PMB to assent before leaving office, please.

The only thing that can stop the discrimination is to make the Jamb cut off mark for both University and Polytechnic equal. You can't admit one person with 180 and the other with less and expected them to be seen equally. The problem starts from OND
