98 Chibok Girls Still Held 9 Years After Abduction In Nigeria Nigeria

The girls were sleeping at their school, awaiting exams, when they were taken. The abduction sparked a global outcry and the rise of the #BringBackOurGirls movement.

Amnesty International has condemned the Nigerian authorities for their failure to protect children."Since the Chibok school girls were abducted by Boko Haram, a plethora of schools have been targeted, with girls being abducted, raped, killed or forced into"marriage". The organisation said the Nigerian authorities have however not carried out a single credible investigation into the security failures that left children vulnerable to the atrocities committed by Boko Haram and gunmen.
